About the NATO Phonetic Alphabet

The NATO phonetic alphabet — officially the International Radiotelephony Spelling Alphabet — assigns a unique codeword to each letter so that combinations of letters can be pronounced and understood clearly over a noisy radio or telephone channel. It's used worldwide by aviation, military, maritime, and emergency services.

This converter handles letters, numbers, and spacing. Type your text and the phonetic equivalent updates instantly. Useful for spelling out names, license plates, confirmation codes, or any string of characters where misheard letters would cause problems.
