Anagram Solver
Find anagrams of any word or phrase
About the Anagram Solver
An anagram is a word or phrase formed by rearranging all the letters of another word or phrase. This solver finds every valid English word that is an anagram of your input — meaning it uses exactly the same letters, no more and no fewer.
Anagram solving is useful for word puzzles, crosswords, and games like Jumble. It's also a popular exercise in linguistics and creative writing. Classic anagram examples include "listen" / "silent", "astronomer" / "moon starer", and "conversation" / "voices rant on". Results are sorted by word length.
Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between an anagram and unscrambling letters?
An anagram uses every letter of the original exactly once (LISTEN → SILENT). Unscrambling allows partial use — finding any valid words from the available letters. This tool finds true anagrams.
Will it find multi-word anagrams?
It returns single dictionary words that are anagrams of the input. Multi-word anagrams (like 'DORMITORY' = 'DIRTY ROOM') are a different problem and aren't covered here.
